Birmingham-based property developer, Cordia Blackswan, has strengthened its team with five new appointments to support their placemaking-led development ethos.

A brand new app connecting local communities with businesses in the Jewellery Quarter has been launched by the Jewellery Quarter Business Improvement District (JQBID). DiscoverJQ – which is available to download via the App Store and Google Play – will enable users to virtually explore and plan visits to the Jewellery Quarter and unlock exclusive offers, events and more throughout the summer and beyond.
With the help of the JQBID and JQ Townscape Heritage project, BOLDtext are spending the summer developing a show, which will take the audience on an exhilarating journey around the Quarter, discovering its many amazing stories and hidden places.
With over 80 bars and restaurants, the Jewellery Quarter is one of the best places to wine and dine in Birmingham. Birmingham TV met with three local venues to hear about the new safety measures and exciting changes that customers can now expect as indoor reopens.
The JQBID has helped secure additional outdoor space for nine Jewellery Quarter venues and has repurposed the Golden Square to allow for more public seating.
In the Jewellery Quarter work is already underway to utilise parking bays in Water Street and St Paul’s Square in order to create more space for hospitality businesses, and temporary seating will be introduced on Golden Square.
Discover JQ is a brand-new, search-driven website that places user-experience at the forefront and provides a new marketing channel for local businesses to promote their services.
As we say hello 2020, we also say farewell to what has been an incredible last 12 months for the JQBID team. We’ve welcomed two new members of staff, delivered the biggest JQ Festival to date, adopted the JQ train station and even managed the surprise pop-up of a genuine Banksy.
