Roads in the city to be resurfaced as a part of a 5 year plan

Reading Time: < 1 minute

As part of the highway works programme, a 5 year upgrade of Birmingham’s highways network, certain roads in the city will be temporarily closed whilst they are being resurfaced. Parade and the Sandpits from Summer Hill Street to Charlotte Street, including the Roundabout at Fredrick Street are areas which will undergo maintenance.

The expected start date is the week ending 18th April 2014. Amey will be working at night in order to reduce congestion and disruption. The work is expected to last up to 12 nights.

During the period of work, roads being resurfaced will be closed to all traffic. Drivers are advised not to park or leave cars on these roads otherwise they will be removed by the City Council Parking Enforcement Team.
