The Jewellery Quarter would like to say a big congratulations to Perry Beeches II The Free School for being awarded ‘Outstanding School’ status in a recent Ofsted inspection.

The educational inspection team, lead by Brain Cartwright HMI (Her Majesty’s Inspector), alongside two additional examiners graded Perry Beeches II Outstanding in all categories, which included achievement of pupils, quality of teaching, behaviour and safety and leadership and management.

After inspectors visited 27 lessons and nine after-school enrichment sessions, they concluded that students find learning at Perry Beeches II “interesting, enjoyable and motivating” due to the high level of professional teaching staff. Behaviour, academic achievement and personal development were also complimented in the Ofsted report.

Perry Beeches II, which is a part of the Perry Beeches Academy Trust, was the fist free school in Birmingham City Centre catering for 11 – 18 year olds. Perry Beeches The Academy was named ‘Overall Outstanding Secondary School of the Year’ in 2011/2012, and now the academy trust can add Perry Beeches II’s recent accreditation to their list of successes.
