Guy has almost a decade of experience in commercial property in roles with Lambert Smith Hampton and more recently, Avison Young’s retail agency team.

He brings expertise in the shopping centre, high street and food and beverage markets, where he has delivered strategic consultancy advice to public bodies and private sector landlords and tenants. Recent projects include The Mailbox for M7 Real Estate, NatWest’s high street disposal programme and Utilita Arena Birmingham on behalf of the NEC Group.

Guy joins an expanded team that was recently bolstered by the recruitment of Andy Robinson as Creative Retail’s director of development.

Andy has already been appointed as development manager on several high-profile regional projects, including the former Debenhams store in Lichfield City Centre on behalf of Evolve Estates, which is set to be transformed into a new cinema and restaurant complex.

Established in 2017, Creative Retail offers guidance on all stages of the retail development process, from initial appraisals and site sourcing to pre-let tenancy agreements, development management and exit strategies.

Despite having just one dedicated office in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter, the company was ranked as one of the top five retail agencies in the UK in the EG Dealmakers 2021, with one of its founding directors, Scott Robertson securing the accolade of ‘Most Active Agent’ in the same industry leaderboard.

The firm is currently advising on almost 3 million sq ft of retail and leisure property nationwide.

Scott Roberston, director of Creative Retail, said:

We couldn’t be happier to welcome Guy to the team. We’ve had the pleasure of working with him on several occasions in the past and have been consistently impressed by his level of knowledge and ability. He’s widely recognised as one of the industry’s rising stars and he’s the perfect fit for our fast-paced, modern style of agency.

We’re an ambitious business that has achieved impressive and sustainable growth in the last five years. It’s our intention to continue to build on the reputation we have gained for delivering projects by investing in the best people to help drive the company forward.

Guy Sankey said:

I’m delighted to be joining the team at Creative Retail, it’s a dramatic era for the retail and leisure sectors, where the market is rapidly evolving. The prospect of joining such a proactive, dynamic and highly progressive agency as Creative Retail, at a time where clients are increasingly in need of the highest standard of service, is truly exciting.
