Fans of the Rat Pack will be excited to see a piece of music history go under the hammer next week in the Jewellery Quarter – a ring owned and frequently worn by Sammy Davis Jr. offered for auction on Thursday 24th August at Fellows Auctioneers.

Photos show Sammy Davis Jr wearing the Brownish-Yellow 10.75ct diamond ring on stage and in other iconic moments of his career. He wore the ring on his little finger in March of 1973 at the White House with Nixon during the historic An Evening with Sammy Davis Jr. event, as can be seen in photos from the event. He also wore it on his index finger during his tour of Europe in 1985. Videos of his performances clearly show it on his hand while on stage in Germany. The ring is sold with a large, professional photo album with exhibition-style photo plates showing Mr Show Business himself

Update: The ring sold for £68,900 including fees on Thursday 24th August. Watch the action here.
