LEARNING & ENGAGEMENT MANAGER – CLOSING DATE TUESDAY 17 JANUARY

The Royal Birmingham Society of Artists (RBSA) is an artist-led charity which supports artists and promotes engagement with the visual arts through a range of exhibitions and learning programmes at the RBSA Gallery. The Society owns and runs the RBSA Gallery, located just off St Paul’s Square in Birmingham’s historic Jewellery Quarter.

The Learning & Engagement Manager plays a vital role in delivering a wide range of inclusive activities at RBSA Gallery from working with schools, colleges and universities, to managing funded projects with community groups. The role will focus on developing new and diverse audiences through a creative programme of activities inspired by gallery exhibitions, the RBSA Collection and the community.

This role would suit a highly motivated individual who has a background in education, learning and engagement in the creative, arts or heritage sectors, together with a proven track record of developing new audiences through learning and engagement programmes, and an empathy with our work as a visual arts charity.

The successful candidate should have excellent project management skills with rigorous attention to detail, experience of working with a diverse range of participants and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Working closely with the RBSA staff team and membership, they should demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a flexible approach, with an enthusiasm for all aspects of the role.
