Gong Bath – Sound Healing Journey

3rd September 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Despite the name, a gong bath doesn’t involve water. You’re encouraged to wear warm, comfortable clothing and bring blankets and pillows to create a comfortable bed to lie on and relax into the sound waves created by the gongs. The therapist creates an environment where you can reach deep levels of relaxation and meditation. Starting with an opening short, meditation to use stillness and your breath to ease into the space and your mat, you will either lie down or find a comfortable position, Tessa will then play the Gong and a percussion set for you to experience the different frequencies and vibrations from the instruments. Gong baths promote nervous system regulation and allow your brain to reach different levels of brain wave states. We are made up of water and the vibration from the gongs work on a deeply cellular level, finding areas that require realignment and allowing your cells to find a uniform vibration to promote healing. A gong bath can help you relax, reduce stress and improve wellbeing. The sound waves can help to clear energy and promote deep relaxation. Reclaim your body. On the day, we welcome you to join us in advance of the start time so you can get comfy, have a tea and settle in readiness for the Gong Bath. Tessa will guide you through a short meditation with attention to your breath. Arrival between 18:00 – 18:20 Doors close at 18.25 Gong Bath start at 18.30 Gong Bath 18.30 – 19.30 Its so important in this modern, busy world that we consciously create time and schedule in events where we have a complete switch off. Rest, relaxation and restoration. With sound, there is nothing for you to do other than to get warm and comfortable, just be open to what comes up. Sometimes the best thing to do is just simply be open to the experience, clearing any preconceptions. The experience is unique to every single person. The more often you experience sound and the power of the vibrations from the gong, the quicker your body responds. We are so, so delighted and grateful to be able to share this at Joie. Tessa connected with the studio by coming to a yoga class and it went from there. Some notes – Yoga mats, bolster cushions and blocks available to use in the studio. – We have some blankets but if you have one at home, please bring this with you. – Wear something comfortable and warm – your body temperature will drop in stillness. – If lying on your back isn’t comfortable, maybe bring a pillow from home. – Eyemasks can also help to block out the light so you can really focus on turning your gaze inwards. TICKETS ** £18.00 for all bookings made throughout August ** – £22.00 for bookings in September. Gong Baths aren’t suitable for: •Pregnant women •People with metal implants •People with pacemakers •People with epilepsy •People with serious mental health conditions. If you have any questions before booking, please reach out to Tessa by emailing the studio hello@joieyogastudio.com
