The Jewellery Quarter is set to host its first-ever wedding fair next month, after securing funding from the ERDF Welcome Back Fund through Birmingham City Council. Taking place on Saturday, March 19th within the Golden Square, visitors and residents alike will be able to prepare for their dream day by browsing through an inspiring collection of local wedding suppliers in this historic part of Birmingham.
Curated by the JQBID team, its debut Wedding Fair will highlight the hundreds of bespoke jewellers, local businesses and other hidden gems located within the Jewellery Quarter. With exclusive discounts, promotions and a full guide to local wedding suppliers set to be available for visitors to enjoy, the free event will run throughout the afternoon, from 12 PM – 5 PM.
Commenting ahead of the brand-new event, Luke Crane – Executive Director of the JQBID – said:
We’re really looking forward to hosting our first Wedding Fair this Spring! It’s common knowledge that the Jewellery Quarter is packed with a variety of incredible, local businesses – from specialist jewellers to artisan bakeries – but we’re so excited to be championing the best of Birmingham’s wedding and events suppliers.
By providing visitors the chance to meet with and browse potential wedding vendors in real life, we’re confident that this will not only drive footfall across the high street and local area but will also help to celebrate the rich heritage of the quarter!
From hair and makeup services to photographers and formal boutiques, visitors will be able to speak directly with over 15 businesses within the central marquee that will be located in Golden Square. Representatives from each business will be on hand to provide more details about their availability, services, and package deals throughout the afternoon. A prosecco bar will also be on tap, with Hockley Social Club providing food from local traders Urban Cheesecake, Baked in Brick and Beef on the Block throughout the afternoon.
Home to over 150 independent specialist retailers with jewellery shops producing more than 40% of the UK’s jewellery, the JQ Wedding Fair will also enable visitors to explore the Quarter and take advantage of many offers and discounts only available on the day by showing the Wedding Guide.
Jack Brabant, Director at Hockley Social Club, added:
After opening our Hampton Street venue just a stone’s throw from the Golden Square last May, we’ve had a real focus on being an active member within the local community. As a huge part of our business involves hosting large events and weddings, partnering with the JQBID for its debut Wedding Fair was a no-brainer for us – we’re really looking to serving up some delicious samples in March!
