JQ shows overwhelming support for Christmas hamper initiative
Reading Time: < 1 minute
The generosity shown by local businesses and residents never ceases to amaze us, but the response for the Christmas hamper initiative has been particularly positive.
Less than two weeks after the Jewellery Quarter Development Trust launched its appeal to fill 100 hampers for families within the Ladywood Ward – one of the poorest in the UK – we already have 140!
The initial aim was to raise enough funds for 100 hampers containing essential festive treats. Once this target was reached, Tesco pledged to fill another 20 hampers for free!
Each hamper will contain: Cadbury’s selection box, Christmas pudding, drinking chocolate, strawberry jam, marmalade, mince pies, shortbread, box of Celebrations, chocolate yule log and a bottle of fizz.
The deadline for sponsorships is Friday 6th December and we are expecting at least another 20 businesses to confirm their support before the end of the week.
Company or personal sponsorship can be:
· A single hamper at £25
· Multiple hampers
· A contribution towards the cost of a hamper
To sponsor a hamper, please get in touch with Qucie Green at Fellows (Qucie@fellows.co.uk).
The parcels will be assembled on Tuesday 10th December and delivered to the local food bank on 11th December.
