Get involved with the Great British Spring Clean!

Reading Time: 2 minutes

UPDATE – 6/3/18

Due to the adverse weather conditions last week, the JQBID community clean-up day has been re-scheduled to Friday 16 March from 12 – 2pm.

Volunteers will meet at the Golden Square, outside the Big Peg, where participants will be provided with the correct equipment, route planning and a safety briefing. All materials will be provided including high visibility vests, gloves, litter pickers, and plastic bags. The JQBID team will oversee and guide the volunteers throughout the whole session.

Businesses and residents in the Jewellery Quarter are being encouraged to get involved with two community clean-up days in March.

Coinciding with the Great British Spring Clean – a national campaign to bring people across the country together to clear up the litter that lies around the community –  the Jewellery Quarter BID is organising two sessions (Friday 2 March and Saturday 3 March) to collect litter within the JQBID area.

Luke Crane, BID Director comments: “Keeping the Quarter clean and tidy is integral to the work we do for the community. The JQBID Clean Team do a fantastic job day-in-day-out in all-weather but campaigns like this allow volunteers to get involved and make a big difference to the local environment. The session on Friday lunchtime is perfect for business owners or employees who can spare an hour before heading back to the office.”

The community clean days will take place:

Friday 2 March – from 12 to 2pm

Saturday 3 March – from 2 to 4pm

Volunteers will meet at the Golden Square, outside the Big Peg, where participants will be provided with the correct equipment, route planning and a safety briefing. All materials will be provided including high visibility vests, gloves, litter pickers, and plastic bags. The JQBID team will oversee and guide the volunteers throughout the whole session.
