On Wednesday 19th October, the Jewellery Quarter put its fashion foot forward with it’s fourth annual Quarter Lifestyle Showcase, Organised by the Jewellery Quarter Business Improvement District (JQBID).
A VIP guest list filled the foyer of University College Birmingham’s McIntyre House, Holland Street. Guests were treated to drinks, canapés, a string quartet and the opportunity to browse a number of exhibitors from Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter.
Exhibitors included designer Jewellers, Vintage retailers, a specialist Gin seller and a gallery owner to name a few.
A fashion show was staged to showcase a sample of luxury accessories designed by the exhibiting Jewellery designer-makers with a selection of clothes provided by John Lewis from their Autumn/Winter 2016 Collection.
“This will be the fourth year of Quarter Lifestyle, and we are delighted to see that it has grown bigger and better with each passing year” comments Kim Loynes, Events Manager for the JQBID.
“The Quarter has caused quite a buzz in recent years with lots of new and exciting bars, restaurants and attractions which have opened up here”, remarks BID Manager, Luke Crane.
“Yet, Jewellery and lifestyle have always been a big part of our identity, a part which is still prevalent today. That is thinking behind why the BID organise this event – to showcase and celebrate our wonderful hub of designer-makers.
Items have been commissioned in the Jewellery Quarter for the likes of Beyoncé, Lewis Hamilton and even her Majesty the Queen.
This event is exclusively funded by the Jewellery Quarter BID. For further details on the BID, and the projects they deliver, please visit this page.
