Independent Jewellery retailers are encouraged to save the date for the popular Retail Jewellers’ Congress, celebrating its 15th year of delivering value through shared knowledge, experience, and expertise.

Held on the third and final day of the NAJ Summit, Monday 24 June, the Retail Jewellers’ Congress will explore how jewellery retailers can survive and thrive in a changing retail landscape, encompassed in the theme – Think Different to Be Different.

JBN Facilitator, Michael Donaldson, explains,

“Retailers now trade in a world where consumers continue to shop more online, where business rates disadvantage the high street retailers, and consumers are not only voting with their purses and wallets but with their feet, as footfall does just that – fall.

“It was motor car pioneer, Henry Ford, who is alleged to have said, ‘If you always do what you’ve always done, you will always get what you’ve always got.’ The retail landscape has changed dramatically in the past five years; therefore, businesses must be open to different ideas and practices to thrive in this new environment. This year’s Retail Jewellers’ Congress will challenge, inspire, and provide direction on how to Think Different – to be Different.”

What is the Retail Jewellers’ Congress?

The Retail Jewellers’ Congress has been a longstanding and popular event for independent jewellery retailers to come together, network and hear from esteemed speakers on topics and challenges reported by the NAJ’s independent jewellery retailer network – the JBN.

Regular Congress attendee, Cynthia Cartwright, Commercial Director of Wongs Jewellers, shares,

“The NAJ Summit offers inspirational speakers, insightful perspectives and invaluable networking opportunities that can really shape business strategies. It’s a

vibrant event, with a jam-packed schedule to maximise learning opportunities. If you’re looking to improve your business, then you need to be there.”

The extended weekend, taking place from the 22-24 June 2024 at Park Regis Hotel, Birmingham, will once again feature the Valuers’ Conference hosted by the Institute of Registered Valuers and the Retail Jeweller’s Congress hosted by the JET Business Network, creating an unmissable three days of connecting with peers and knowledge-sharing.
