Jewellery worth £2,000 has been returned to a Jewellery Quarter shop thanks to the quick reaction of police officers in the area.
A tray of rings was stolen from a jewellers in Warstone Lane yesterday. However, the thief was no match for two of the Quarter’s police officers who chased the suspect down and made an arrest.
Keith Stanley, operations director for the JQDT and JQ BID, said: “We’re pleased to hear that the items have been returned to the store. With so many valuable items on sale in the Quarter, businesses can take some comfort from the fact that the Jewellery Quarter is one of the few Birmingham districts to still have a police presence. We want to thank the police for their continued support and their quick reaction to this particular incident.”
