Paradise update: Summer Row
Reading Time: < 1 minute
The first phase of the redevelopment of Paradise is now well under way and there are a number of new traffic and transport changes that affect access to the Jewellery Quarter.
From the evening of Saturday 31 January, Broad Street will be closed to inbound private vehicles from Bridge Street to Paradise Circus. The route will remain open to buses and hackney carriages only.
In addition to the originally planned changes, further measures have become necessary. These affect Summer Row and will enable safe pedestrian access to be maintained while work is carried out on high voltage underground power cables. From Monday 9th February for a period of 12 weeks, the section of Summer Row between Lionel Street and Fleet Street will be subject to short-term intermittent closures.
Full details of all Paradise traffic measures and other works taking place as part of the transformational Birmingham Connected programme are available here.
