New petition to save Jewellery Quarter Police Station

Reading Time: < 1 minute

A new petition has started in the local community to stop the closure of the Police Station in the Jewellery Quarter.

In early October West Midlands Police announced plans to close 28 stations across Birmingham over the next two years to save a projected £8.5 million, one of the first of which would be the Jewellery Quarter Station on Vyse Street in early March 2017.

“The community is our passion”,  says Sharon Murphy, Social Media Assistant at the Big Peg and creator of the petition, “We need your voice to stop this happening. Together we can hopefully save our local Police Station.”

The petition is available to sign online here or by visiting the Big Peg reception at 120 Vyse Street, Jewellery Quarter, Birmingham, B18 6NF.
