Never too cold for shorts…
Reading Time: < 1 minute
In the cold January weather the Blue Orange Theatre is donning some shorts in a bid to bring on an early summer. Ten minute shorts to be exact…
The Blue Orange Writers Group has been busy writing ten minute scripts as part of their new writing showcase entitled ‘Shorts’, which will take place at the Blue Orange Theatre on Saturday 25th January, 7.30pm. The event will showcase a selection of new writing as written by the Birmingham-based group who meet once a month and present a range of new writing such as monologues, duologues and full scripts.
Group co-ordinator Ian Craddock said: “It is so important for local writers to have somewhere for their work to be read, commented on and adapted accordingly in order to further develop individuals’ skills. Blue Orange Writers meets once a month and is free to attend, making us extremely accessible for writers from all walks of life.”
‘Shorts’ is the first event of the year for the writing group with a larger competition taking place from late January until April entitled ‘A Female Perspective’ . This will see writers from across the country submit scripts of up to thirty minutes in length and must feature an all female cast. The successful scripts will then be professionally produced and performed at the theatre from Thursday 10th April – Saturday 12th April.
Tickets for ‘Shorts’ are £3.00 and can be purchased online at www.blueorangetheatre.co.uk or via the box office on 0121 212 2643.
