Each year during the festive period, a collective of Birmingham’s well established and emerging jewellery designers exhibit at the prestigious selling event, Centrepiece at Symphony Hall. It’s the perfect opportunity to buy exclusive Christmas gifts from exceptional handmade creative collections, or commission truly one-off personal pieces.
This year Centrepiece is running a fantastic competition opportunity. To be in with a chance of winning £100 off your chosen piece of unique jewellery please visit the Centrepiece Jewellery Facebook page to enter from 9thNovember. The winner will be announced on the opening day Wednesday 23rd November.
The Centrepiece show runs until Friday 23rd December and is open between 10am and 10pm daily. The designers will showcase new work exclusively for Centrepiece. What’s more, collect your 10% off voucher with any purchase to be used on future Centrepiece purchases from January 1st2017.
The designers, who take turns to manage the exhibition, will be on site to give advice and answer questions. We are also hosting ‘Meet the Maker’ evenings where a selection of the exhibitors will be at Symphony Hall to talk to customers and discuss their work. It’s a great chance to see behind the jewellery and learn about the variety of techniques used by the makers. If you’re out and about doing a spot of Christmas shopping, or sampling the culinary delights of the German Market, why not pop in to see what’s on offer? Look for the displays on the left of the main doors, you can’t miss it!
This annual event at Symphony hall started 19 years ago when the group saw a need to create a selling opportunity to display the wealth of talented designer-makers in the Jewellery Quarter, who are usually hidden behind workshop doors.
In partnership with the impressive venue Symphony Hall, the first Christmas Exhibition in 1997 ran for four days and included just ten exhibitors. Since this successful debut the event has grown and developed each year, with 2016’s event hosting twenty designers. The eclectic mix of elegant, distinctive and contemporary pieces provides a fantastic platform for local talent in a magnificent setting, promoting creativity and innovation.
