Jewellery Quarter-based communications agency vbx has cleaned up its act in the local area by organizing a team litter-picking event in honor of Earth Day. The Midlands agency, with specialisms in creative, digital, and events, swapped business for bin bags, transforming into ‘Team Clean’ for an afternoon of tidying up their local community as part of a pledge to be a more sustainable business.

Using bags, litter pickers, hi-vis vests, and gloves provided by Birmingham City Council and JQ Bid, the team was able to collect over 10 bags of litter around the Jewellery Quarter, including Vyse Street, Spencer Street, and Regent Place, where their office is located.

Ruth, vbx’s Content Manager took part in the litter pick and said, “It was eye-opening to see just how much litter accumulates in our local area, but very rewarding to tidy it all up!”

Earth Day takes place every year on April 22nd and aims to support and inspire individuals, communities, businesses, and governments all over the world to take action and help to preserve the planet, and advocates for anyone to do their bit to help the environment, however they can.

vbx’s participation in Earth Day reflects its commitment to sustainability, demonstrated through its provision of communication solutions for a diverse portfolio of clients in the green sector. These clients include the Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult, Hydrogen Innovation Initiative, High-Value Manufacturing Catapult, Eco2Solar Ltd, and the National Geothermal Centre. vbx also plans to take part in more initiatives, such as volunteering, throughout the year to support worthy causes.
