Golden Square set to take shape from January

Guests at the JQA breakfast this morning will have heard Birmingham City Council’s Russell Poulton announce that 6th January 2014 is the expected start date for the Golden Square.

Like many local businesses and residents, the JQ BID and JQDT are pleased this public realm scheme is finally moving forward.

Russell explained the January start date had been decided so that the construction work wasn’t carried out during peak Christmas trading, before stopping altogether for the festive break, to then start again in the new year. Instead, the work will begin in January and is still scheduled to finish in spring 2014.

Businesses around the site near the Big Peg on Warstone Lane will be contacted shortly to make them aware of the planned programme of activity.
