Warstone Lane Cemetery Open Day

9th September 2023 @ 11:00 am - 3:00 pm

Drop in to discover the history of the cemetery, chat to our friendly volunteers, find out about your own ancestry, take a tour, and go inside the catacombs.   Tours take place at 11am and 1pm (charge applies). The tour theme is Art and Artists of the Jewellery Quarter. Learn about painters, musicians, crafts people, designers, writers, and performers buried and remembered in the Jewellery Quarter. All tours include a visit to the catacombs. Tours must be booked in advance. Please dress for the weather and wear sensible shoes. We ask everyone to keep to the paths unless otherwise instructed by the tour guide. In accordance with the rules of Birmingham City Council the only dogs permitted in the cemetery are assistance dogs. We will be offering free tea and coffee (donations welcome) How to get there By Train/Tram: The Jewellery Quarter has a dedicated train station (JEQ) and two tram stops (St Paul’s and Jewellery Quarter). By Car: From north-west/north-east take the M6 or M1. From the south/south-east take the M40 or M5. A multi-storey car park is located on Vyse St. and Newhall St. The Cemetery is in Birmingham’s Clean Air Zone, further info here. On Foot: It is a 20 min walk from Birmingham city centre. By Bus: The Quarter is accessible from the city centre via the 8A, 8C & 101 (Warstone Lane Stop) and 16, 74 and 75 (Great Hampton St Stop). Organised by Jewellery Quarter Research Trust
