The Birmingham Assay Office spent four days at the Antiques for Everyone Fair at the NEC this month educating potential customers of their products and services. The fairs, that take place three times a year, are the largest antiques and fine art fairs in the UK.
Their new app ‘Help with Hallmarks’ was promoted at the event and received a lot of positive feedback. The app is available for both Apple and Android devices and enables users to quickly identify the age of a piece of jewellery or silverware.
The Jewellery Quarter-based assay office was right at home amongst traders, collectors and antiques enthusiasts. The team happily spoke to new and existing customers about the range of products and services they will be offering throughout the year including the Silver Collection public visits and training courses.
All visitors to the stand were given the opportunity to be entered into a prize draw to win a bottle of champagne. The team also attracted some celebrity attention in the form of BBC’s Antiques Roadshow stars Mark Hill, Will Farmer and Eric Knowles.
