Rajdoot Tandoori flied the flag for Birmingham at last month’s English Curry Awards 2013 after winning a gong for ‘Best Restaurant Design’.
Owner Manjit Gill, owner of the George Street-based restaurant, picked up the trophy at the swanky bash held at Manchester’s Salford City Stadium.
He said: “We have been in this business for over 40 years and I am so glad that we are still getting recognition.”
Rajdoot saw off some tough competition as the awards received more than 7,000 entries from businesses across England.
Yasmin Mahmood, operations director of event organisers Oceanic Consulting, said: “To be among such passionate people who love what they do is truly inspiring. The English Curry Awards aims to recognise that dedication.
“It was a fantastic evening and I would like to thank everyone for attending and a big thank you to our sponsors. Congratulations to all our winner and finalists, and I hope to see you next year!”
