Known as the Jewellery Oscars, the annual awards ceremony recognises and rewards excellence in technical skills and creative design in precious metals and related materials.
This year the School of Jewellery, part of Birmingham City University, were the winners of this prestigious prize.

Head of College of Jewellery, Fashion and Textiles Lee Lapthorne said: ~
“I’m delighted the College Trophy has returned to the School of Jewellery. The work we produce is world class, and our position as an international leader is unrivalled. Congratulations to our students and staff for winning.”

The School of Jewellery enjoyed an array of individual successes at the awards ceremony in London to wrest the overall title back and see off the challenge of Royal College of Art and Central Saint Martins. The College Trophy, sponsored by special patrons The Betts Group, is given to the college or university that has achieved the highest total of points accumulated from any gold, silver and bronze prizes in the competition. This award is hotly contested between students and courses around the country, and we are delighted to be partnering with The Betts Group again who are providing several additional and exciting incentives for competing for this major and prestigious award.
