A host of local celebrities descended on Birmingham this week for the opening of a new comprehensive school in the Jewellery Quarter. Perry Beeches IV is the fourth secondary school in the family of Birmingham-based schools.
The opening took place at the school on Albion Street on Monday with celebrity guests such as comedian Jasper Carrot, footballer Cyrille Regis and writer Benjamin Zephaniah all showing their support. Chef Rustie Lee completed proceedings as she cut the ribbon to officially open the school.
Visitors, including celebrities, officials and parents were given a tour of the completed areas of the school with talks about plans for future developments. Jasper Carrot even sat in on a few lessons.
Perry Beeches IV will serve the Jewellery Quarter, Ladywood, Handsworth and Lozells areas of Birmingham.
