Reminisce of Form Art Exhibition

4th-28th of February | Tuesday to Friday 10 am-3 pmInterdisciplinary artist Joe Zee presents “Reminisce of Form”, an exhibition that delves into the personal and social histories linked to our inherited and collected belongings.The exhibition showcases a collection of Joe’s possessions. Engaging with these objects-whether through seeing, touching, hearing, or smelling them-can evoke nostalgia and spark memories.Growing up amidst the vibrant culture and diverse community of 1970s Birmingham profoundly influenced his artistic expression. His experiences resonate in his paintings, which are heavily inspired by cherished memories and the items he gathered during that era.The exhibition features a selection of artwork by joe created in response to his collection. These objects serve as memory triggers for specific moments, such as listening to a song on the record player or playing in the street on roller skates. He utilises vibrant colours and mixed media to transform his memories into visual narratives.The Hive is a community hub for Birmingham in an historic building, with an organic cafe, craft workshops, exhibitions and event spaces.
