Drawing Nature Workshop with Paul Bartlett RBSASpend the day drawing in the studio from nature with guidance from an expert tutor. In addition to what Paul brings in, students are encouraged to bring in pieces of nature that they find visually interesting and would like to explore via drawing.Age group and abilities to be taught        18 years and above.Suitable for all abilitiesCourse aims and skills/knowledge to be taughtProduce drawings working from nature.Learn (mainly) dry drawing media for line, tone and colour.Course outline for Drawing Nature WorkshopMorning activityCombined introduction and overview of options for the day via examples of the tutor’s own art workLine and tone using graphite pencils including methods from controlled gradation and lifting out. Subjects will be nature without much colour such as dried leaves, shells, bones, stones, twigs, etc.Afternoon activityUse colouring or water-soluble pencils to pay homage to colours in nature. Paul will show examples of his flower subjects drawn from closeup nature and discuss his working methods, then assist students individually.Subject options include flowers or other plant cuttings, potted plants, and fruit and vegetables.Materials and equipment required by participantA folder to take your work home inA selection of drawing materials including graphite pencils, colouring/water-soluble pencils, plastic and putty erasersYour choice of a little bit of natureMaterials and equipment provided(These will be provided for use during the Drawing Nature Workshop and are included in the fee)A2 sheets of cartridge paperA selection of drawing materials
