‘Uprising: Origins of the Black Art Movement in the West Midlands’ Join us to celebrate Black History Month on Sunday 22 October at 11am for a special lecture from RBSA Honorary Professor of Art History, Brendan Flynn. Explore the origins of the Black Art Movement against the social and political background of the 1970s and 80s, looking at artists from Birmingham and West Midlands.
