A Royal Visit at the Jewellery Quarter
Reading Time: < 1 minute
The JQDT (Jewellery Quarter Development Trust) was delighted to welcome HRH the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall to the Jewellery Quarter this week.
The Trust has strong relationships with the Prince’s Foundation for Building Community and has worked with them for many years. JQDT board members were treated to a private audience with HRH at the School of Jewellery where they were able to showcase the effective work of the Trust that benefits visitors, residents and workers in the area.
While the Prince was taken to Fattorini, one of the oldest manufacturing buildings in the Jewellery Quarter, by the JQDT Chairman, David Mahony, the Duchess of Cornwall enjoyed her first visit to Europe’s largest school of jewellery. She was also given the chance to speak to current students and alumni about their artistic creations. The Duchess of Cornwall was then presented with pens by Jack Row, an award-winning designer and visiting tutor at the school, for both her and Prince Charles.
