Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon, and sister to the late Queen Elizabeth II, was well known for her glamours, party-loving lifestyle and free spirt.

Born, 21st August 1930, Princess Margaret lived a rich and varied life, playing an active role in the Royal Family’s public work. She dedicated her time to becoming a Patron of the Arts and supported numerous welfare charities. In particular, Princess Margaret had a keen interest in music and ballet, so much so that she became the first president of the Royal Ballet. Margaret’s decadent lifestyle and rebellious nature often caught the attention of the press who called her the ‘party-princess.’ She became known for her whirlwind romances, and enlightening friendships with a mixture of celebrities, actors, and musicians. Consequently, Princess Margaret is often thought to be one of the most popular royals in modern history.
