Jewellery Quarter-based charity, Cure Leukaemia is joining forces with University of Birmingham to launch the ‘Birmingham. Let’s Cure Leukaemia’ campaign which aims to find a cure for blood cancer in the next 30 years.
The campaign will encourage 1000 runners to sign up to ‘Team Cure Leukaemia’ to compete in the Bupa Great Birmingham Run with a goal of raising £250,000 for the charity.
All of the money raised will help support University of Birmingham researcher and Cure Leukaemia co-founder, Professor Charlie Craddock, and his team, continue to deliver groundbreaking treatments to leukaemia patients throughout the West Midlands.
The Bupa Great Birmingham Run will see runners of all abilities complete the 13-mile course for good causes. Cure Leukaemia will be cheering racers on in a ‘cheer bus’ situated just past the 12-mile mark to give entrants the motivation to complete the challenge.
Cure Leukemia and University of Birmingham are now encouraging people to sign up to participate in the event, which will take place on Sunday 19th October.
