Tunnel Closures Underway

Visitors, residents and employees of the Jewellery Quarter are encouraged to use public transport this summer as the A38 St Chad’s and Queensway tunnels will be completely closed to all traffic for six weeks.
The tunnels will be shut from 10am 18th July to 6am 1st September 2014 whilst phase two of an ongoing refurbishment project takes place.
The closure will be preceded by two weeks of overnight closures, from 10pm to 6am, and followed up to four weeks of similar overnight closures.
Amey, in partnership with Birmingham City Council, will be managing a dedicated website – www.brumtunnels.co.uk – with updates about the developments and alternative routes into the city.
