STEM-Up: Free workplace skills programme from BCU

Get the skills you need to excel! Level up your personal skills or train your team to grow your business.

Birmingham City University (BCU), in partnership with the European Social Fund (ESF), has launched a brand new professional development programme for both individuals and businesses in Birmingham. STEM-Up helps aspiring individuals evaluate their skills gaps and find the right training courses to meet their needs – for free.

Whether it’s brushing up on soft skills like public speaking, or degree-level technical skills, STEM-Up offers a wide range of learning programmes. Each participant will receive a personalised development action plan to achieve their goals. Many courses are offered by partners at Aston University and Solihull College & University Centre as well as BCU.

The STEM-Up programme will help you:

  • Assess your existing skills and identify your future requirements
  • Create a personalised skills development action plan to achieve your goals
  • Identify learning opportunities to help you or your business upskill
  • Attend a series of learning programmes cost-free
  • Review your post-STEM-Up learning progress and evaluate your development
