Special theatre ticket offer for ‘Maurice’s Jubilee’ – Book before Friday 1 March!

Reading Time: 2 minutes

New Alexandra Theatre Birmingham is offering Jewellery Quarter residents, businesses and visitors a special rate on group bookings to its new play about a retired jeweller.

The critically acclaimed smash hit of Edinburgh 2012, ‘Maurice’s Jubilee’ is the hilariously funny and moving tale of an ordinary man’s enduring commitment to a dream, and of a love triangle with a regal twist.

Maurice’s Jubilee is a tender look at life and love in a marriage where Helena has been the Queen of Maurice’s heart for sixty years. But a distant memory of Her Majesty The Queen still sparkles brightly in this retired jeweller’s mind. Entrusted a lifetime ago with the Crown Jewels and a royal pledge, Maurice insists that his ninetieth birthday will be one worth waiting for.

Maurice’s Jubilee currently stars Olivier Award winner Julian Glover (The Empire Strikes Back, Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade, For Your Eyes Only, and currently in Game Of Thrones), Sheila Reid (star of the double award-winning TV series Benidorm, guest star in Call The Midwife Christmas special) and Olivier Award winner Nichola McAuliffe (Lady In The Van (UK tour), Coronation Street, Surgical Spirit) in her unmissable self-penned new comedy.
