Arch 13, the brand new wine bar at Connolly’s Wine Merchants, is opening this week on Thursday 10th May.

Designed by award-winning interior designers, Newman Gauge, the new venue is inspired by the traditional look and fittings of a wine cellar with a contemporary twist.

Abigail Connolly, Director of Arch 13, is the only female sommelier in the city and describes the new wine bar as “all about unique wines, great cheese and meat, and perfect pairings between the two. We can’t wait to open and showcase some really interesting pairings to our customers.”

Arch 13 will offer an ever-evolving wine list which launches with a 23-strong selection (from £4, by the glass) a cocktail menu and a rotating food menu. The menu selection takes in a variety of British meat including hand-carved mutton, venison salami and air-dried duck, as well as a cheese board from Harvey and Brockless. A selection of hot mains will be available at lunchtime alongside bespoke cheese and meat boards.

Connolly’s new wine shop, which can be found at the rear of Arch 13, will continue to carry one of the broadest ranges of wines and spirits in the country. With over 500 wines, 120 gins and countless whiskies, brandies, and liqueurs. The new retail space will also offer wine on tap by the bottle to take away.

Connolly’s has been a family owned and run business since 1976, and located at their current venue in the Jewellery Quarter since 1991.
