An awards ceremony that recognises and celebrates achievements within the UK jewellery industry has announced its nominations. The UK Jewellery Awards 2018 shortlist includes several Jewellery Quarter based businesses.

WB The Creative Jewellery Group  has been nominated in the Ethical Jewellery Business of the Year Category after successfully winning the award last year. The category requires nominees to explain the strategies they have in place to address social and environmental impacts, transparency of supply chain and company ethics training for staff. Managing Director Andrew Morton [pictured] said, “This is such an important category, as nominees and winners are leading the way in improvements that are all about business ethics, sustainability and creating a trade fit for the future that we can all be proud of. I’m especially proud this year of our colleagues in our Weston Beamor division who passed Fairtrade Gold Sales Ambassador Certificate of Accreditation last year.”

Domino has once again been nominated in the Supplier of the Year category which requires nominees to demonstrate improvements in customer service through investment in technology, manufacturing techniques or design. Andrew Morton, said, “We’re really pleased to be nominated in the Supplier of the Year category. Competition in this category is fierce, so to be nominated again after winning in 2017, is quite simply brilliant. The team should, and do, feel pride in this acknowledgement of their hard work and excellent customer service.” Improvements highlighted in the award submission included dramatic reductions in service delivery levels to 10 days and the breadth of the collection.

Other Jewellery Quarter businesses nominated at the awards include Bond Jewellery and Diamonds for Bridal Jewellery Retailer of the Year, Cooksongold for Employer of the Year, and Hockley Mint who has also been nominated for Ethical Jewellery Business of the Year.

The nominees will find out the results at the award ceremony on 4th July 2018 at The Artillery Garden, London.
