A DECADE OF CELEBRATION – BIRMINGHAM’S UNMISSABLE SUMMER PARTY IS BACK!

The annual Jewellery Quarter Festival returns this summer for its 10th anniversary, bringing a day packed with live music, market stalls, tours, creative workshops, and hands-on experiences — including the return of the much-loved Jewellery Quarter-themed miniature golf course! Taking place on Saturday 26th July from 10am to 7pm, this milestone edition of the Festival will once again fill Golden Square, St. Paul’s Square, and over 20 venues across the Quarter with the energy and spirit that makes the area so special.

True to the theme “Where Individuality Shines,” this year’s Festival celebrates not just the historic streets and iconic buildings, but the people who bring the Jewellery Quarter to life — the independent makers, performers, artists, and storytellers who shape the area’s unique character.

Organised by the Jewellery Quarter Business Improvement District (JQBID), the Festival kicks off at 10am with the Artisan Market on Golden Square. Throughout the day, the Square will be buzzing with creativity — from live music and dance performances, including a vibrant set from the Voice of the Town Choir and a high-energy Brazilian Capoeira flash mob.

Alongside this, JQ Festival 2025 presents an abundance of interactive events throughout the day for Festival goers to participate in, including a Foraging Walk with Sustainable Life and unique Catacomb tours run by the Friends of Key Hill and Warstone Lane Cemeteries. There’s even a chance to see inside the School of Jewellery with an Open Day a guided building tour. This iconic venue will also be transformed into a Heritage Hub, featuring stalls and activities from local organisations such as the Pen Museum, Coffin Works, and the Police Museum. Plus, visitors can enjoy a round of our bespoke Jewellery Quarter-themed mini golf course, with 9 creative holes inspired by local landmarks — fun for all ages!

If you’re looking to spark your creativity, there’s no shortage of opportunity. Dive into a range of hands-on workshops — from chocolate-making and wine tasting to pottery and tufting. Down on Vittoria Street, stop by Viela, the Brazilian cultural centre, for Capoeira workshops running all day for both adults and children. Then follow the rhythm of the JQ Music Trail, where talented young musicians from the Academy of Contemporary Music will perform at pubs and venues throughout the Quarter — each performance a unique reflection of the Quarter’s creative heartbeat.

Back for its fifth year, the main stage on St. Paul’s Square promises an unforgettable live music experience in one of Birmingham’s most picturesque settings. Curated by The Jam House, this year’s line-up features everything from soul and funk tributes to reggae, jazz, and rock anthems. As the sun goes down, the music spills out into nearby venues for an evening of celebration. With dozens of cafés, bars, and restaurants nearby, serving everything from gourmet meals to street food favourites, Festivalgoers will be spoiled for choice all day long.

And of course, no JQ Festival is complete without a chance to shop with some of Birmingham’s most exciting independent creatives. Two lively markets — one curated by Birmingham Design and Friends, the other by Birmingham Artisan Markets — will showcase the works of local makers, artists, illustrators, and designers, each one bringing their own story and individuality to the table.
