Find Love and Escape puzzles with Escape Live this Valentines Day

Romance is hotting up at a Birmingham entertainment venue which is hoping to prepare the city for the most romantic day of the year by hosting a date night with a quirky twist.

Escape Live, based in Henrietta Street, launched in the city last year and runs live games for teams of up to five people who work to crack puzzles and escape from a locked room.

The venue, which is rated number one out of more than 50 Birmingham fun and games attractions on Trip Advisor, currently holds two rooms with different themes; Dr Wilson’s Office, a detective-based game inspired by Sherlock Holmes, and Room 13, which has a horror theme. And now the Escape Live team is hoping to strike the city’s singletons with cupid’s arrow by hosting a mass double date at the venue – inviting them not just on a search for the puzzles’ answers, but for love too.

The venue is hoping to attract couples of single friends on Friday, February 12, for a date night which will include meeting other single couples of friends as they work together to escape each room. Manager Jordan Ladley said: “Valentine’s Day for couples is one of the most exciting and fun days of the year, but what about those who don’t have someone to share it with?

“For that reason we are planning to host a double date escape event to offer a fun and quirky alternative choice of entertainment to kick-start Valentine’s weekend and to cater for everyone rather than just couples. The Escape Live rooms really are for everyone – stag and hen do’s, students, friends and families alike all enjoy the experience – so why not add in a romantic element and use it for double dates Throughout the evening we’re inviting up to eight couples of friends to join us for a mass blind double date as we enter them into each room on a quest to crack the codes and escape. But who knows what – or who – else you might find while on the frantic search for answers!”

Escape Live has also joined forces with nearby bar Jam House, in St Pauls Square, which is offering participant free entry and guest list following the challenges.

Jordan added: “To ensure all guests celebrate and finish the evening in style, all those who participate in the games will also be awarded free entry and guest list to Jam House, a live music venue based a short walk away.”
