R John Webb is a Birmingham based musician that has traveled the length and breadth of the nation and beyond playing solo or with his band, Rhino and the Ranters. He has shared the stage with the likes of CW Stoneking, Soledad Brothers, Seamus Fogarty, Kid Congo,The Proclaimers, The Levellers, Tom Hiscox, The Wonder Stuff and many more.R John has become a firm festival favourite both with The Ranters and with his solo act playing at many of the established and up and coming festivals such as: Moseley Folk Festival (headlined second stage), Lunar Festival, Shambala, Bearded Theory, plus moreHe has also graced the stage of many an esteemed venue such as: The Lexington, London; Gaz’s Rockin Blues, London; 12bar Club, London; Blues Kitchen, Camden, London; Dublin Castle, London; O2 Academy, Birmingham; Wulfren Hall, Wolverhampton, Kitchen Garden Café, Birmingham.R John is a multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, poet and illustrator. His genre-defying songs are surreal, profound and poignant, and sometimes funny. There are traces of the gothic blues, Alt-folk and jazz both strange and yet familiar. R John plays songs from his forthcoming debut solo album plus songs from his Rhino and the Ranters’ back catalogue. He is a unique song writing talent.
