Cemeteries Working Party
As part of the project, we’ll be building up a team of volunteers to take care of the landscape in the cemeteries. They need some TLC to keep them looking their best all year round. We will be ensuring they are free from litter, leaves and other debris. Seasonally we’ll also be planting native bulbs and flowers to provide a splash of colour and of course food and shelter for wildlife, including our JQ bees at The Hive! We’ll be working with wildlife and historic environment experts to encourage animals, birds and insects to thrive here, whilst protecting the historic features including gravestones.
Upcoming working party dates
Thursday 23rd January 10.30am – 1pm
Saturday 1st February 10.30am – 1pm
Friday 7th February 10.30am – 1pm
Sunday 16th February 10.30am – 1pm
Monday 24th February 10.30am – 1pm
We’ll be sprucing up the cemeteries, getting everything ready for the spring!
Due to the cold weather, we are keeping the sessions short (1 hour per cemetery) and we’ll have a break for hot drinks in the middle. We’ll meet outside the JQ Railway Station, and then make our way over to the cemeteries together.
If you would like to come along on any of the following dates, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call on 0121 233 2814.
