The team behind keeping Birmingham’s roads safe during wintery weather has launched a hot competition with Free Radio this week for those who help others in the cold.
Amey’s winter maintenance team, who work in partnership with Birmingham City Council to help the city cope when snow and ice arrives, are on the look-out for Birmingham’s Top Snow Angel – the person who goes above and beyond to help their community when the temperatures plummet.
People in Birmingham are being asked to nominate someone who deserves a big thank you. They could be a volunteer driver delivering hot meals, a keen knitter making blankets for a local nursery or care home, or simply someone who regularly checks in on a vulnerable friend or neighbour.
The winner, chosen by the gritter drivers themselves, will win a day of VIP Christmas shopping in Birmingham.
The prize comprises £150 of shopping vouchers, including a £50 Harvey Nichols voucher to be used at the Mailbox store, and a one night stay in the luxury MacDonald Burlington hotel, including an evening meal and breakfast, all courtesy of ShoppinginBirmingham.com.
