Birmingham wins gold for best city centre bloom

The Jewellery Quarter’s floral displays have helped Birmingham secure gold at the Heart of England In Bloom Awards 2013.
Birmingham City Centre won the large city category for the second year running.
The Jewellery Quarter was one of the areas included in the Floral Trail, which led visitors and judges from Church Street to St Paul’s Square via Ludgate Hill, then onto Warstone Lane and Vyse Street.
The city is also celebrating after achieving European gold for its entry to Entente Florale Europe – the ‘Eurovision’ of city horticultural and environmental achievement.
