Thousands of people attended the Jewellery Quarter Business Improvement District’s (JQBID) Jewellery Quarter Festival last month.

The three-day festival took place between 28th and 30th July 2017.

On Friday, the event kicked off in style in the Golden Square marquee. Barbara Nice kept the guests entertained in between performances from Jake Henry, JQ Soul, Aston Performing Arts Academy and drag act Annabelle Lector. JQ Dining Club street food vendors Street Souvlaki, Boo-Fes, Bournville Waffle Company and The Middle Feast provided a mouth-watering selection of foodie treats throughout the evening.

Over the weekend the free activities, music performances and entertainment was split across two squares – Golden Square and St Paul’s Square. JQ Dining Club continued with the addition of Low ‘n’ Slow and Esmies. Cafes and pubs across the Quarter also hosted acts as part of the “JQ Jazz Festival”.

JQ Open Studios ran all weekend and allowed people to visit the studios and workshops of the many makers, designers and artists in the Jewellery Quarter. This year’s line-up included three art galleries, a mini film festival, a new lighting range and three breweries.

Luke Crane, JQBID Director said “This is the biggest the festival has ever been and it was good to see everyone having a great time. Over the weekend, visitors arrived from across the region and further afield to see what the Quarter has to offer and experience why it is the place to live, learn, work and visit.”
