Unique Find: Technical Team Solutions

This month, JQBID manager Luke Crane, popped in to see fellow Big Peg residents, Technical Team Solutions. Andy Jones and the rest of the IT recruitment team made him feel right at home in their newly decorated office.

When did you move to the Jewellery Quarter?

After spending a year working from home, the team made the decision to find a suitable office and moved to the heart of the Quarter in The Big Peg at the beginning of the year. As you can imagine, we spent the first couple of weeks decorating as the industrial feel of the area inspired us and we wanted to represent that in our working space.

What attracted you to the area?

A friend of ours moved to The Big Peg a year ago and after visiting him a few times, we were bowled over with the Jewellery Quarter. It’s a great up-and-coming area with so many unique restaurants and bars. It’s also close enough to the city centre for us to meet our clients when needed.

We’ve already reaped the benefits and have noticed a sizable increase in business since the move. There’s a real sense of community here and we’ve found that the local businesses are very encouraging and enthusiastic when it comes to working together. Overlooking The Golden Square is a huge bonus for us too and we can’t wait to spend the summer months enjoying it on lunch breaks and after work.

What can job seekers and clients expect from Technical Team Solutions?

We pride ourselves on our personal approach. We like to take the time to get to know our clients to make sure we can make the right match with job seekers and companies. We’re currently in the process of launching a new IT contractor hiring and management tool, which will streamline current procedures and make it more cost effective for companies to take on candidates.

We fully believe in collaboration and have even partnered up with some of our clients and developers for a quarterly tech meet up called ‘Fusion’. Some of our staff will be doing talks on the night and helping out with the organisation and promotion of the seminars.

What’s your favourite part of the Jewellery Quarter?

We all love the history of the area, each street and building is unique and has such a variety of industries and companies. We couldn’t possibly pick just one place, but other than our lovely office, we’re all big fans of The Rose Villa Tavern, The Drop Forge, The Red Lion, Viceroy and The Lord Clifden for post-work food and drinks.

Technical Team Solutions host a quarterly technical meet up. Fusion is an informal and social gathering of industry leaders and professionals to enjoy thought provoking presentations and networking. There next event will take place Thursday 9th July. To find out more follow the Twitter account, @FusionMeetup.
