A charity football tournament will be kicking off at the beginning of May. Local residents and company teams in the Jewellery Quarter are being invited to take part in the football event that will be supporting blood cancer charity, Cure Leukaemia.

Each team will pay £70 to compete in the 5-aside Powerleague tournament, with £40 going directly to save Cure Leukaemia. The contest will be in the style of the World Cup and will require 32 teams to sign up.

Teams will have to book in advance and then attend the Lucozade Powerleague Birmingham Salford Stadium on 7th May. A draw will then take place to determine which of the 32 countries competing in this year’s World Cup each team will represent.

A minimum of forty minutes per team will be spent on the pitch, with the potential of longer as the tournament progresses through the stages.

The football themed festivities kick start on 7th May at the Lucozade Powerleague Birmingham Saldford Stadium at 6pm.

To sign up as a team email birminghamad@powerleague.co.uk or call 0121 328 4842. For more information about the tournament click here.
