Papyrus is the national charity dedicated to the prevention of young suicide in the UK. Every year over 1600 young people take their own lives in the UK. Many thousands more contemplate suicide; many harm themselves or suffer alone, afraid to speak openly about how they are feeling.
PAPYRUS exists to give young people hope and to prevent young suicide.
We have opened an office in Birmingham to enable us to engage with the community and help reduce the number of young peope who take their own lives in the West Midlands.
We want to enhance the great work already being done by charitable organisations and equip young people, and their communities, with the skills to recognise and respond to suicidal behaviour. We run the national helpline, HOPELineUK and deliver vital suicide prevention and intervention training across the UK.
