Aston Reinvestment Trust
Aston Reinvestment Trust (ART) provides loans to Birmingham and Solihull based businesses or social enterprises, which need cash to survive or grow and are unable to secure it via conventional sources.
Loans are provided between £10,000 and £50,000
ART raises funds from a combination of private and public sector sources and is supported by Advantage West Midlands. It is a mutual society that is owned by its members, both investors and borrowers. Member investors can invest from £250 to a maximum of £20,000. ART has now been accredited by DBERR to provide CITR, a Government tax relief of 5% p.a for five years maximum to investors in ART.
ART has lent over £7.5m in over 400 loans since its launch in 1997.
ART’s portfolio of borrowers ranges from registered charities to sole traders, to partnerships, to limited companies. ART has supported both innovative start-ups and established businesses in manufacturing, services, food and care industries, education and skills training.
