Living in the Quarter

The Quarter is a great place to live with over 30 restaurants and bars ranging from Neapolitan to Nepalese and other centrally located facilities include a manned Police station, a Post Office, a Tesco Supermarket and a Pharmacy (all in the vicinity of the Jewellery Quarter Clock).  There are also a number of medical practitioners in the area and a new Health Centre is planned now on site at the bottom of Warstone Lane – this should be open by late 2009.

There are now an estimated 3,500 people living in the Quarter and a Jewellery Quarter Neighbourhood Forum has been formed to both lobby on behalf of the residential population but also provide a networking facility for local residents. To visit their website www.jqnf.org.uk.  If you are interested in moving to the area, please visit the Residential Property pages.

Other facilities include gyms in Ludgate Hill, Great Hampton Street and Hylton Street, an Holistic Centre in Legge Lane and a Yoga Studio in Livery Street.

The Quarter itself is also well served by public transport from bus to tram and is only 15 minutes stroll away from the facilities of the City Centre.

The Quarter is a designated Conservation Area with many historic buildings and with a still vibrant jewellery trade it provides a more unique alternative to the normal City living experience.
